As we welcome 2026, Hambrook Sports Club faces a pivotal year filled with opportunity and challenge. Our beloved club has provided a home for grassroots sport since it was built in 1968: but needs essential refurbishment to continue serving the community well into the future. A key part of this upgrade involves investing in energy improvements to reduce our winter fuel bills, helping us stay sustainable and affordable for everyone. While we are actively applying for funding from various sources, the heart of our success lies in the support of our members and local community.
This year, we invite you to join us in strengthening Hambrook Sports Club in one (or more) of these five ways.
Renew or Purchase Your Membership
Membership is the foundation of our club’s community spirit and financial health. By renewing or purchasing a membership in 2026, you help us maintain and improve the facilities that everyone enjoys. Membership fees contribute directly to the upkeep of the club and support our fundraising efforts for the refurbishment and energy upgrades.
Members also enjoy exclusive benefits, including a £10 discount on full-day room hire. Whether you want to host a private event or a community meeting, booking a room at Hambrook Sports Club is more affordable for members. This is a great way to support the club while enjoying a welcoming space for your gatherings.
Support your Club by Booking Events

Open countryside views make our events room a special place for a party of up to 80 guests
Booking events at Hambrook Sports Club is a great way to contribute. Our rooms are perfect for celebrations, meetings, and workshops. By choosing our club as your venue, you help generate income that goes straight back into improving the facilities.
Members receive a discount, making it even easier to support the club while enjoying a great space. If you’re planning a birthday party, a family reunion, or a community workshop, consider Hambrook Sports Club as your venue of choice.
Join Our Monthly Social Events
We have planned an exciting calendar of social events for 2026, designed to bring the community together and raise funds for our refurbishment project. There will be at least one fun and interesting event each month, including:
Sip and Paint classes with local artist Catherine Williams
Family evenings with games and activities for all ages
A one-day seagrass weaving footstool course with local bespoke upholsterer Felicity Tran

In March, our social events calendar includes a seagrass footstool weaving class with local bespoke upholsterer, Felicity Tran
These events are a fantastic way to meet new people, learn new skills, and support the club. Check out our events page regularly for updates and booking information.
Play your way: Cricket, Football, Skittles, Fitness Classes
At just £8 per class for members, our weekly fitness classes are growing in popularity, and 2026 will see new opportunities to join in. On Wednesdays, Abi, our regular Fitness Pilates instructor, is launching a second class from 7 to 8 pm, in addition to her 8 to 9 pm class. This gives members more flexibility to fit fitness into their schedules.
We are also excited to welcome Faye, a new instructor who will start a Monday class once we have five attendees signed up. These classes are affordable, friendly, and a great way to stay active while supporting the club. Register your interest by emailing officialhambrooksportsclub@gmail.com.
Winter cricket doesn't end with the Ashes. Our Youth cricket teams are practising with Winter Nets in Yate, and from 26th January Senior Winter Nets starts. Find out more on the Hambrook Cricket Club page.

Our five Skittles teams are playing until April, and they welcome extra players. You can also hire our skittles alley for a private event for just £25, complete with the bar area.
Volunteer Your Time and Skills
Volunteering is vital to Hambrook Sports Club. We rely on community members to help with a variety of tasks, including:
Serving behind the bar during Skittles, Cricket, and Football matches
Groundskeeping and maintenance
Practical skills such as electrical work, plumbing, decorating, or even marketing!
We want to launch a youth football team for the 2026/27 season. To do this we need youth coaches – and we can secure funding for coaching training. Interested? Message us at officialhambrooksportsclub@gmail.com.
If you have time or skills to offer, please get in touch. Volunteering is a rewarding way to contribute to the club’s future and meet others who share your commitment to the community.
Hambrook Sports Club is more than just a place to play sports; it’s a hub for community connection and support. The refurbishment and energy upgrades planned for 2026 will ensure the club remains a welcoming, affordable, and environmentally friendly space for years to come.
Your involvement makes a real difference. Renew your membership, book events, join social activities, attend fitness classes, or volunteer your skills. Together, we can make 2026 a year of growth and community for Hambrook Sports Club.
