From talking to our members, we know that you care about climate and nature. You care about pitch degradation, caused by wetter winters and drier, hotter summers. You care about our cold, damp pavilion, and our winter electricity bills that come in at a whopping £1200 per month. You care about losing green space around Hambrook. You care about transport to away matches. You care about our waste.

Now, your club will benefit from £30,000 funding and a tailored programme of support to produce a community climate and nature action plan - with your input. I'll be talking to members at events across the summer and autumn, to discover your priorities in detail and deliver a plan of action for Hambrook Sports Club. I'm looking dorward to working with you on this important piece of work. It will help us reduce our club's climate impact and protect nature, but the plan will also help us talk to funders about what we need to refurbish our pavilion, giving the sports we care about most – football, cricket, skittles – a sustainable future.

The community

climate & nature action project is backed by the National Lottery Community Fund and co-ordinated by Bristol Climate and Nature Partnership. Find out more, here: https://bristolclimatenature.org/projects/community-climate-nature-action/capacity-building-programme/
