Are you looking for a fun way to spend an evening with your family while supporting a great cause? Hambrook Sports Club is hosting a Family Fun Night on Friday, 27th March from 6 pm, and everyone's invited. This event promises a mix of tabletop games, skittles, and bingo, designed to bring people together for laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit. Beyond the fun, this night plays a vital role in raising funds to refurbish our changing rooms, creating dedicated spaces for our female cricket (and soon to launch football) players.
Whether you’re a Bristol and South Gloucestershire resident, a sports enthusiast, or someone who values community activities, this night offers something for everyone.
What to Expect at Hambrook Sports Club Family Fun Night
Hambrook Sports Club is known for its inclusive, friendly atmosphere and commitment to making sport accessible for all. The Family Fun Night is no exception. Here’s a glimpse of the activities planned:
Tabletop Games: From classic board games to card games, there will be options for all ages. Families can team up or compete against each other in a relaxed setting.
Skittles: This traditional game is easy to learn and fun for all skill levels. It’s a great way to enjoy some light-hearted competition.
Bingo: A crowd favorite, bingo offers chances to win prizes while enjoying the company of friends and neighbors.
The event is designed to be family-friendly, so children and adults alike will find something entertaining. Refreshments will be available to purchase from the bar, with profits from the night going into the changing room fund.

Why Your Support Matters
The main goal of this event is to raise funds for refurbishing the changing rooms at Hambrook Sports Club. Currently, we don't have dedicated changing facilities for our women and girl cricket players. With a girls football team launching in September, it's never been more important for us to start this process. Improving these spaces will:
Encourage more female participation in sports by providing comfortable, safe, and private changing areas.
Promote equality within the club by ensuring all players have access to quality facilities.
Strengthen the community by supporting local sports programs that bring people together.
By attending and participating in the Family Fun Night, you contribute directly to these improvements. Family tickets are just £2.50, (or £5 with an extra changing room fund donation) and every ticket purchased made helps bring our vision for more equal play closer to reality.
The Impact of Supporting Women and Girls in Sports
Supporting women and girls in sports goes beyond just providing facilities. It fosters confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles. Here’s why this matters:
Building confidence: Sports help young women develop self-esteem and leadership skills.
Creating role models: Female athletes inspire the next generation to pursue their passions.
Promoting health: Regular physical activity improves mental and physical well-being.
Encouraging community: Sports bring people together, breaking down barriers and building friendships.
Upgrading our changing rooms reflects our commitment to making sports inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
What You Can Do Beyond Attending
If you cannot make it to the Family Fun Night but still want to support the cause, there are other ways to help:
Spread the word: Share information about the event with your network.
Volunteer: Offer your time to help organize or run activities.
Donate: Contributions to the refurbishment fund are always welcome.
Sponsor: Local businesses can consider sponsoring the event or donating prizes.
Every bit of support helps create a better environment for women and girls at Hambrook Sports Club.
Final Thoughts
The Hambrook Sports Club Family Fun Night Friday, 27th March is more than just an evening of games and laughter. It is a chance to come together as a community and support a meaningful cause that benefits women and girls in sports in your local area. By joining this event, you help build a future where everyone has the facilities they need to enjoy football and cricket comfortably and confidently.
